1. Scope
This Tracking Policy may apply across SideKix digital experiences, including public SideKix websites, web applications and browser-based desktop experiences, mobile applications including iOS and Android when available, Kix and other SideKix features accessed through the Services, authentication, account, billing, support, Community, Discovery, Advisor and event experiences, and SideKix communications where tracking or measurement technologies are used.
Different technologies may be used on different platforms. Traditional browser cookies may be used on websites and web applications, while mobile applications may rely more heavily on SDKs, app-instance identifiers, device information, operating-system permissions, and similar technologies.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small data files stored on or accessed from a browser or device. First-party cookies are generally set by the service being visited. Third-party cookies may be set or accessed by service providers or other third parties whose technology is integrated with a service.
SideKix may also use technologies that perform similar functions, including SDKs embedded in mobile or web applications, pixels, tags and web beacons, local and session storage, device, advertising, app-instance or installation identifiers, authentication and security tokens, server-side measurement technologies, and diagnostic, crash-reporting, performance, analytics, attribution and communications-measurement technologies. References to Tracking Technologies include these collectively.
3. Why SideKix may use them
Operating and securing the Services, authenticating users and maintaining sessions, remembering settings and preferences, preventing fraud, abuse and unauthorized access, providing requested functionality, measuring performance, reliability, errors and crashes, understanding how features and content are used, improving navigation and product design, measuring communications and campaign effectiveness, performing attribution, supporting customer service, and advertising or marketing measurement where SideKix uses such technologies and applicable choices and notices are provided.
SideKix will use Tracking Technologies in accordance with applicable law and the SideKix Privacy Policy.
4. Categories
Strictly necessary and security. Essential functionality such as authentication, account security, fraud prevention, network management, session continuity, consent records and load balancing. Where permitted by law these may operate without optional consent, because disabling them may prevent core functionality.
Functional. Remembering choices or enabling enhanced functionality, such as preferences, interface settings, embedded media and accessibility-related preferences.
Analytics and performance. Understanding use of the Services, measuring traffic and engagement, diagnosing errors, monitoring reliability and improving products.
Advertising, attribution and marketing. If used, measuring campaigns, understanding referrals or conversions, limiting repeated advertising, or attributing installations or registrations. SideKix will provide choices or obtain consent where required.
Communications measurement. Pixels, tagged links or similar technologies that help determine whether a communication was delivered, opened or interacted with, where permitted by law.
5. What is in use today
This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses no first-party cookies, no local or session storage, no analytics, and no advertising or attribution technologies.
Embedded video. The film on the home page is hosted by YouTube and loaded from youtube-nocookie.com. On that domain YouTube does not set cookies for advertising purposes when the page loads. Playing the video may cause YouTube to store data on the device under Google's own terms.
The technologies in use may change as the Services evolve. Where SideKix deploys optional technologies that require consent, a current inventory may be maintained through a consent interface, privacy settings or Privacy Center, identifying the technology or provider, purpose, category and approximate duration.
6. Website and web application controls
Where SideKix deploys optional cookies or similar browser technologies that require consent or choice under applicable law, SideKix may provide a cookie banner, consent manager, privacy settings or similar control. Available controls may allow users to accept, reject or adjust categories of nonessential technologies. Strictly necessary technologies may not be disableable when they are required to provide or secure requested Services.
Users may also manage cookies through browser settings. Blocking or deleting certain technologies may cause features to operate differently, require repeated sign-in, remove saved preferences, or prevent portions of the Services from functioning. Browser controls vary by browser and device.
7. Mobile application and device controls
SideKix mobile applications may use SDKs, app identifiers, device information, diagnostic technologies or permissions rather than traditional browser cookies. Depending on the device, operating system and jurisdiction, controls may be available through SideKix account or privacy settings, iOS or Android privacy and permission settings, device advertising or tracking settings, notification permissions, and location, camera, microphone, photo or Bluetooth permissions where relevant to a feature.
Disabling a device permission may prevent functionality that depends on it. SideKix will request permissions in connection with relevant functionality and as required by applicable platform rules and law.
8. App tracking and advertising identifiers
If SideKix engages in tracking or advertising practices that require an operating-system permission or other consent, SideKix will request that permission where required before engaging in the activity. This Policy is not a substitute for a device-level permission or consent that applicable law or platform rules require.
9. Analytics, performance and crash reporting
SideKix may use analytics, performance-monitoring, diagnostics and crash-reporting technologies to understand how the Services operate and to identify errors, crashes, latency, reliability issues and feature usage. Depending on configuration these may process device or browser type, operating system, app version, approximate network information, session identifiers, interaction events, performance data and crash data. Use of personal information obtained through these technologies is governed by the Privacy Policy.
10. Advertising and attribution
SideKix may use advertising, attribution, referral or campaign-measurement technologies when it conducts marketing activities. If SideKix uses technologies that constitute targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, or another regulated practice, SideKix will provide the notices, choices, consent mechanisms or opt-out rights required by applicable law. Nothing here states that SideKix currently engages in every form of tracking described.
11. Global Privacy Control and other opt-out signals
Where SideKix is legally required to recognize a qualifying browser- or device-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, SideKix will process supported signals as required by applicable law. The effect may depend on the jurisdiction, the browser or device, the Service being used, whether the user is signed in, and the processing activity. Where required, SideKix may also provide a Your Privacy Choices or similar mechanism.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers provide a Do Not Track or similar setting. Because there has not historically been a uniform industry standard governing all such signals, the response to a particular signal may depend on applicable law and the technical standard involved. This does not limit SideKix's obligation to recognize legally required opt-out preference signals.
13. Emails and other communications
Where permitted by law, SideKix may use pixels, tagged links or similar technologies in emails to understand delivery, opens, clicks, engagement or campaign effectiveness. Users may reduce certain communications tracking by adjusting email-client settings or disabling automatic image loading. Marketing communications remain subject to the preferences and unsubscribe rights described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Third-party technology providers
SideKix may use service providers and other third-party technology providers to support hosting, authentication, security, analytics, communications, customer support, payments, app functionality, advertising or attribution. Third-party technologies may process information on SideKix's behalf or, in some circumstances, for purposes governed by the third party's own terms. The presence of a third-party technology does not necessarily mean SideKix permits that provider to use information for unrestricted independent purposes.
15. Retention and expiration
Session technologies generally expire when a browser or session ends, while persistent technologies may remain for a defined period or until deleted, reset or replaced. SDK and server-side information may not have a browser-cookie expiration date and may be retained according to SideKix's or the provider's retention practices. Personal-information retention is governed by the Privacy Policy.
16. Effect of disabling
Users may continue to access portions of the Services after rejecting optional Tracking Technologies, but certain features may be less personalized or may not function as intended. Disabling strictly necessary browser storage, security technologies, authentication tokens or required device permissions may prevent sign-in, account security, media access, voice functionality or notifications from working. SideKix will not intentionally condition access to unrelated functionality on consent to optional Tracking Technologies except as permitted by applicable law.
17. Children
Use of Tracking Technologies in connection with children or minors is subject to the age requirements in the SideKix Terms of Use and applicable privacy law. If SideKix introduces experiences specifically directed to children, or otherwise becomes subject to additional child-privacy requirements, SideKix may provide additional notices, obtain required consent, or modify the technologies used.
18. Relationship to the Privacy Policy
This Tracking Policy explains particular technologies used to operate, measure, personalize, secure or market the Services. The Privacy Policy provides broader information about categories of personal information collected, purposes of processing, categories of recipients, retention, privacy rights, security and contact information. Privacy rights relating to information collected through Tracking Technologies should be exercised through the mechanisms described there.
19. Changes
SideKix may update this Tracking Policy as technologies, Services, providers, legal requirements and privacy practices evolve. The Last updated date identifies the most recent version, and additional notice of material changes will be provided where required by applicable law. Because the technologies deployed may change more frequently than this Policy, users should also review any current inventory or consent interface made available through the Services.
