Registered agent

Ohio requires one. Ohio calls it a statutory agent, and the Secretary of State will not accept articles of organization without both the appointment and the agent's signed acceptance; the agent must be an Ohio resident or an entity with an Ohio street address, and losing the agent for 30 days after notice cancels the LLC's articles.

What you owe after year one

Ohio imposes no annual or biennial report on LLCs. The Revised Limited Liability Company Act (ORC Chapter 1706) contains no periodic reporting section, and the Secretary of State fee statute (ORC 111.16) lists no LLC report fee. The ongoing obligation is simply keeping a statutory agent on file.
